Christmas 2011

I'm realizing more and more how terrible I am at blogging.... I'm awfully inconsistent!  We had a very busy Christmas this year, full of visits from family and friends, Zach's first Christmas concert, and as always, more blessings than we deserve.

The kiddos in their Christmas jammies... they were so patiently cooperative while I took hundreds of pictures of them.:)  I couldn't help myself.

Christmas morning... it was so fun to have Granna, Papa, and Aunt Jess with us!

A second Christmas celebration at my parents' house...lots of food, fun, and fellowship!  Nathan and I are so blessed by the fact that both of us have believing parents!

Everybody wants to hold the baby!:)

Of course, a California Christmas is not complete without a trip to the beach!  (and for anyone who thinks Nathan doesn't look like his dad...that picture on the top-right proves you wrong:))

This is the part where an aunt (who shall remain nameless) takes our son and our camera down by the water and allows him to get completely soaked...just before going out to lunch/meeting up with friends...but it made for some cute pictures, so we forgave her.:)

We are so thankful that in God's providence we were able to visit with the Gue family, even if it was only for an afternoon.  We were so encouraged by the sweet fellowship.

Obviously, no Christmas would be complete without recognizing the reason we have any sort of celebration at all.  The Lord Jesus Christ, who came as a baby, servant, and shepherd, and the imperishable, eternal gift of salvation He gave and still gives to us!  Lydia is our first winter baby, and holding a newborn at Christmas time caused us to be even more amazed at the fact that Christ who is God, through whom all things were made, confined Himself in the form of a helpless baby.  All for wretched sinners such as myself...what a great God we serve!  Merry, very late, Christmas!
