Abigail Katherine Palmer came into the world on June 16th (one day past her due date) at 5:32 am...just in time for Nathan to catch a few snuggles and then leave to relieve our sweet friend who stayed with the kids overnight. We are so thankful that God has provided us with such an amazing church family to care for us during this time as it was our first time having a baby with no family available to stay with the other kids, cook meals for us, etc.
She is our smallest baby at 6 lbs 3 oz and 19 ½ in. long. I remember having the fear that each baby would be bigger than the last, but my last 2 babies have proven that wrong (praise the Lord!).
I have found, even in this short time we've had her, that I enjoy each baby more that the last. Not that I love them any more or less, but I appreciate their baby-ness more. I recognize a little more each time just how fleeting the sweet moments of babyhood are. I kiss her cheeks more, hold her longer, and am just a little more reluctant to lie her in her bed to sleep, rather than keep her in my arms. One of my biggest fears as we chose to be willing to have a large family, should the Lord see it fit, was that there wouldn't be enough love to go around, since I already loved the children I had so much. But that is simply not true. God has proved, as he always does, to be faithful to provide. My love has not been divided among our children, but multiplied with each new life. We are so thankful for the privilege to love this precious girl.
"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3
